Founder of Helikro Holidays and Managing Director, Ruwan Kulathunga is a soulful storyteller, naturalist, and passionate travel designer with over two decades of experience crafting immersive, off-the-beaten-path journeys across Sri Lanka. A lifelong traveller with a keen photographer’s eye, Ruwan captures the unseen — both through his lens and through the journeys he curates.

His deep understanding of Sri Lanka’s landscapes, people, and rhythms allows him to design experiences that are rich in culture, nature, and human connection. From tracing birdcalls in the Knuckles Range to walking the ancient stones of Anuradhapura, Ruwan invites travellers to slow down and truly see.

Adding to his vision, Ruwan is now bringing his passion for meaningful living into design — with his upcoming boutique villa in Sigiriya, soon to open its doors. Overlooking the legendary Sigiriya and Pidurangala rocks, the villa will offer an intimate space for travellers seeking stillness, authenticity, and unforgettable views.
